Its
always nice for us to know whats happening with the weather to plan
a weekend or trip, or be able to determine if you need a jacket or umbrella
when you head to school. But some businesses and industries are weather
sensitive and its more than a convenience to them to know
whats happening with the weather their success depends on
it.
Such industries include farmers, manufacturers, contractors and ski resorts.
For example, a drop in temperature could cause a frost that could damage
crops. Or a period of rain could delay construction on a major project.
In this video, Mike McGrath, Group Director of Manufacturing Operations
for the Keebler Company, talks about the repercussions of inclement weather
and how severe weather might affect production at his southwestern Ohio
plant and its employees. Watch the video and hear his thoughts. Then answer
